SALT LAKE CITY –Today, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) posted a draft Utah Air Resource Management Strategy (ARMS) on ePlanning for a 14-day public comment period. This posting meets the provision outlined in the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, et al. v. U.S. Department of the Interior, et al. settlement agreement. The public scoping period closes on May 17, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. The ARMS update will not change BLM-Utah’s statutory responsibilities. BLM-Utah will continue to defer regulatory authority to the State of Utah and the Environmental Protection Agency. ARMS is a guiding strategy for BLM-Utah to manage air resources through the National Environmental Policy Act process.
Comments can be submitted on ePlanning at https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/home, or accepted in person or by mail to the BLM Utah State Office at (Attn:) 440 West 200 South, Suite 500, Salt Lake City, UT, 84101.
