The County Fire has burned more than 80,000 acres and has high potential for growth.

The closure affects public lands south of State Route 20 and west of State Route 16, including the High Bridge, Cowboy Camp, Judge Davis and Red Bud recreation sites. The temporary closure will remain in effect until further notice. The Knoxville Recreation Area is also temporarily closed.

CAL FIRE, with assistance from numerous federal state and local agencies, including the BLM’s Veterans Hand Crew from the Mother Lode Field Office and the Diamond Mountain Interagency Hotshots from Susanville, is leading the efforts to control the fire.

Current information is available on the CAL FIRE incident information website at http://www.fire.ca.gov/current_incidents/incidentdetails/Index/2101.
