Coeur d’Alene, Idaho – The Bureau of Land Management’s Coeur d’Alene Field Office is searching for a volunteer host for the Mica Bay Boater Park. The unique, boat-in/hike-in recreation site is located on the west side of beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene. The seasonal host provides assistance to campers and boaters visiting the site five days per week beginning in May through early September.

The Mica Bay campground host site has full water and electric hookups. The host will need to provide their own self-contained lodging in the form of an RV or camper trailer. Camp hosts are reimbursed for expenses on a monthly basis and are also required to clear a background check.

In addition to greeting visitors as a representative for the BLM, the host conducts general campground maintenance duties such as lawn mowing, weed trimming and cleanup. The host also checks for camp fee compliance and assists with water sampling.

The BLM’s Mica Bay Boater Park is boat-in campground that offers 16 tent camping units, two mooring docks, a swimming beach, three picnic units, a group picnic shelter, vault toilets, drinking water and playground equipment. The campground host is available to assist visitors with the self-pay kiosk.
