Salmon, Idaho - The Bureau of Land Management’s Salmon Field Office (SFO) is looking to make improvements at the popular Shoup Bridge Campground located approximately 4 miles south of the town of Salmon.
Day use at the Shoup Bridge Campground has steadily increased over the past several years due to its proximity to Salmon and ease of access from Highway 93. With the increase in day use visitors, the current parking area has room for only seven vehicles and two designated handicap spaces, which is insufficient for the site’s current level of use.
Proposed improvements to the campground include adding 14 vehicle-only parking spaces and seven parking spaces for vehicles with trailers. In order to accommodate the parking area expansion, one infrequently used campsite would be removed and the camp host site would be relocated.
To help fund this important project, the SFO is applying for a grant through the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation. As part of the grant application process, the SFO is asking for public input related to the proposed project. “We would appreciate any feedback on this project the public is willing to provide,” said Linda Price, Salmon Field Office Manager.
Please send comments related to this project by email to gseaberg@blm.gov or by mail to Bureau of Land Management, Attn: Travis Seaberg, 1206 South Challis Street Salmon, ID 83467.
