MONTE VISTA, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management San Luis Valley Field Office is seeking public comments on a proposal to amend the land management plan for 2,882 acres of public lands on the east side of the San Luis Valley and north of Highway 160 in the BLM-managed San Luis Resource Area.

In response to concerns related to cultural and tribal resources, wildlife habitat, and the designated Fourmile Solar Energy Zone, the BLM prepared an environmental assessment to analyze the potential impacts of current land management decisions on these resources.

“BLM strives to be a good neighbor and we would like to hear from the community about how to best manage these public lands,” said Rocky Mountain District Manager Cathy Cook.
