Vernal, Utah—The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Utah Vernal Field Office is seeking public comment on an environmental assessment (EA) analyzing the realignment and paving of a portion of the existing Wells Draw road, a major access route to Nine Mile Canyon. The project proposes paving 2.68 miles of road on BLM land, and realigning and paving 2.52 miles of road on land administered by Utah School and Institutional Trust Land Administration. All other segments of the Wells Draw road and the Nine Mile Canyon road are paved.
Additional information about the proposal is included in the EA, which is now available for public review and comment. An electronic copy of the EA can be found on the Vernal BLM website at: http://www.blm.gov/ut/st/en/fo/vernal/planning/nepa_.html
