LAS VEGAS – The Bureau of Land Management Las Vegas Field Office announced today that it is seeking public comment on a proposal to lease approximately 2.98 acres of public land to the City of Las Vegas for a public park and related facilities. The proposed park is adjacent to the existing Wayne Bunker Park on Constantinople Avenue, between Buffalo Drive and Tenaya Way in the northwest area of the Las Vegas Valley.
The additional land would improve recreational access for area residents and allow for additional amenities such as covered picnic structures, restrooms, parking, children’s play area, open turf areas, walking path, landscaping, and signage. The action is consistent with the BLM’s land use plan for the area.
The Notice of Realty Action for a Recreation and Public Purposes Act (R&PP) Classification was published in the today’s Federal Register. Interested parties may submit comments regarding the proposed decision for the R&PP application and plan of development, whether the BLM followed proper administrative procedures in reaching the decision to lease and convey under the R&PP Act, or any other factor not directly related to the suitability of the land for R&PP use.
The 45-day public comment period will begin today and end May 14, 2018. Written comments about the proposed sale should be mailed to: BLM, Las Vegas Field Office, Assistant Field Manager, 4701 N. Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89130 or faxed to: 702-515-5023.
Before including your address, phone number, email, address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, you should be aware that your entire comment – including your personal identifying information – may be made publicly available at any time. While you can ask us in your comment to withhold your personal identifying information from public review, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
