PHOENIX – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on an environmental assessment in support of the proposed renewals of grazing authorizations for two allotments on public lands south of Phoenix. The land includes parts of the Sonoran Desert National Monument.

The environmental assessment evaluates renewal of 10-year livestock grazing permits on the Arnold and Beloat allotments. The allotments are about 25 miles southwest of Phoenix and are bound by the Gila River to the north, the Estrella Mountains to the east, the North Maricopa Mountains to the south, and State Route 85 to the west.

Concurrent with the public comment period, the BLM is issuing the proposed decision with a 15-day protest period. For instructions on how to comment or file a protest on this proposed decision, please see the project page at the BLM National NEPA Register, where draft documents, maps, and further information are available. The protest and comment periods will close March 21, 2025.
