Coeur d’Alene, ID – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has completed a draft environmental analysis (EA) for recreation improvements at the Ross Point Recreation Site along the Spokane River near Post Falls, Idaho. Feedback on the draft EA is sought by Nov. 11, 2016.
The 2.5-acre parcel is one of a handful of public access points along the Spokane River but currently has few amenities for the public’s enjoyment. The BLM proposes to construct a day-use recreation area with paved parking, a restroom, grassy areas, walking paths, picnic tables and a shade structure. A non-motorized access point to the river would allow for swimming, paddling and fishing. A swim area with a buoy line is also proposed. Construction of a small craft (kayak, paddleboard) fishing dock is planned as well.
