The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking public comments on a proposed response to a patent application for a shooting range complex to be located three miles west of Milan, New Mexico. Interested parties may submit comments regarding the proposed conveyance by May 15, 2017. The Cibola County Commission has submitted an application to the BLM to acquire 211.73 acres for the shooting range complex under the authority of the Recreation and Public Purposes Act.
The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) is working closely with Cibola County on this project. The shooting range complex will serve the local community and law enforcement needs in an effort to address safety concerns associated with uncontrolled shooting activity in the area.
The public can view the plan and submit comments at the following address: Bureau of Land Management, Attn: John R. Brenna, Jr., 100 Sun Ave., Suite 330, Albuquerque, NM 87109. For more information, please contact BLM Rio Puerco Field Office Realty Specialist, Arlene Salazar, at 505-761-8772 or asalazar@blm.gov.
