SILT, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management is reviewing a proposal from Rocky Mountain Natural Gas to add an additional compressor to its existing Crystal Compressor Station off Garfield County Road 108 west of Carbondale.
Rocky Mountain Natural Gas, a subsidiary of Black Hills Energy, is proposing the additional compressor to allow greater natural gas storage capacity to meet energy needs for the Roaring Fork and Eagle valleys. The company would add an additional building to house the compressor within the station’s existing, fenced perimeter. More information from Rocky Mountain Natural Gas about the proposed expansion is available at: https://www.blackhillsenergy.
Before the BLM begins an environmental assessment of the proposal, it wants to hear any issues or concerns from the public. Comments will be most helpful if received before Nov. 14, 2016.
