VERNAL, Utah—The Bureau of Land Management is postponing two public meetings previously scheduled for June 7 and 8 in Vernal and Roosevelt, Utah.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

The meetings were intended to solicit public input regarding development of the Book Cliffs Travel Management Area Plan and Environmental Assessment.  Anticipating the need to conduct multiple travel management planning efforts statewide, the BLM is now reassessing the strategy to prioritize these efforts across Utah.

The BLM continues to focus on access to public lands for visitor use and enjoyment, as well as creating a travel system that supports energy development, communication sites, livestock operations, and other public benefits in order to better serve American families and provide jobs.  Ensuring multiple well planned opportunities for public input in travel management planning will be essential to developing travel systems that support communities, benefit the greater public good, and protect resources.  Public announcements will be made as future meetings are scheduled.
