Las Vegas – The Bureau of Land Management is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the person or people responsible for causing significant damage to the Red Rock Canyon sign on Highway 159 on December 17.
“We are looking to the community to help us identify the culprit,” said Catrina Williams, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Manager. “This sign marks the entrance to the Red Rock Canyon area, and is photographed by thousands of visitors each year."
BLM Law Enforcement is actively investigating the crime. Those with information about the crime should call 1-800-521-6501. Tips can remain anonymous. A conviction for violating 18 USC 1361 (willful depredation against any property of the United States) may lead to a fine in excess of $500 and 10 years in jail.
