LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Jack Barnitz, a retired Supervisory Natural Resource Specialist at the BLM Las Cruces District Office, has been selected as a recipient of the Linda Seibert Career Achievement Award. The award recognizes a current or retired BLM employee who has significantly contributed to the conservation of fish, wildlife, and/or botanic resources over the course of their career.
During his career, Barnitz contributed to the success of numerous productive partnerships, diligently promoted special status species and wildlife habitat conservation and mentored many employees to become valuable BLM team members.
“While at the BLM, Jack was an exceptional wildlife biologist, supervisor and mentor, and he is sorely missed following his retirement,” said BLM Acting State Director Melanie Barnes. “Congratulations to him on this outstanding achievement.”
The award was presented March 10 during the Bureau of Land Management Partners and Awards Meeting (virtual) LIVE via the North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference.
