BLM Issues Firewood Permits in Muddy Mountain Area

CASPER Wyo. - Firewood and post and pole permits for the Muddy Mountain area will be issued by the Bureau of Land Management Casper Field Office from June 20 to Oct. 23 or until available wood is depleted in the cutting areas.
Permits are limited to three cords per person and will be issued on a first come first serve basis. Permits are $15 per cord and $1.50 per post or pole. There is an additional $1.50 road maintenance fee per permit. Individuals must show up in person at the Casper Field Office, located at 2987 Prospector Drive between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to purchase a permit.
Actual cutting will end on Sunday Oct. 23. All products must be removed no later than Oct. 23 and the areas will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
All available areas and individual trees will be designated and marked by BLM prior to the sale. Firewood can be cut in these areas, and only those trees marked are available for firewood use.
