CASPER, Wyo. – The Bureau of Land Management Casper Field Office has released a decision record for the Marton Ranch Acquisition supplemental environmental assessment. The BLM’s decision reaffirms its 2022 determination to purchase the 35,669-acre Marton Ranch located southwest of Casper, Wyo.

The supplemental EA responds to an October 2022 settlement agreement between the State of Wyoming and the BLM. As part of the settlement, BLM agreed to conduct additional analysis of resource issues raised by the State of Wyoming in its appeal of the BLM’s original decision. Specifically, the supplemental EA provides additional information regarding potential environmental impacts to aquatic invasive species, fisheries, and recreational setting.

The supplemental EA was made available for public review and comment on April 21, 2023, resulting in 351 individual comment submissions. Public comments have been addressed and incorporated into the EA and decision record.
