BLM Idaho seeks 2018 seasonal camp host for Mica Bay Boater Park

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho– The Bureau of Land Management’s Coeur d’Alene District needs a campground host for the popular Mica Bay Boater Park. The boater park is located on Lake Coeur d’Alene at Mica Bay which is approximately 9 miles south of Coeur d’Alene. If spending your summer camping along the lake surrounded by breathtaking mountain views piques your interest, this could be the opportunity for you!
The camp host position begins at the end of May and runs through early September. In addition to greeting visitors as a representative for the BLM, the host conducts general campground maintenance duties such as lawn mowing, weed trimming and cleanup. The host also checks for camp fee compliance and assists with water sampling.
Camp hosts are reimbursed for expenses on a monthly basis. The work schedule for the position is five days per week including weekends, though specific days can be negotiated. The host site has full hookups, and hosts must provide their own self-contained lodging (RV/camper trailer).
BLM’s Mica Bay Boater Park is a unique boat-in campground that offers 16 tent camping units, two mooring docks, a swimming beach, three picnic units, a group picnic shelter, vault toilets, drinking water and playground equipment. This is a first-come, first-serve, self-pay fee campsite and boat dock. The campground host is available to assist visitors with the self-pay kiosk. Dogs are allowed at the site, but must be leashed or controlled.
