BLM to Hold Public Scoping Meetings for Sombrillo Travel Management Plan and Environmental Assessment

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Taos Field Office invites you to participate in a second round of public engagement meetings on the travel and transportation planning process for the Sombrillo Travel Management Area (TMA). The TMA is approximately 20 miles north of Santa Fe, east of US-84/Hwy 285 extending north to Espanola, and south of Hwy 76 extending east to the Santa Fe National Forest.
Two public open house scoping meetings will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Northern New Mexico College Room AD 101/102, 921 North Paseo De Onate, Espanola, NM 87532 and on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Pojoaque Middle School campus, Sixth Grade Academy Conference Room, 1791 NM-502, Santa Fe, NM 87506. Those interested are invited to stop by to review the preliminary route network alternatives; discuss and identify new recreational and access opportunities and learn more about implementation of the travel management plan. Travel management includes all forms of transportation, including travel by foot, horseback, and mechanized vehicles such as bicycles as well as the numerous forms of motorized vehicles from motorcycles and four-wheeled all-terrain vehicles to cars and trucks.
For individuals who cannot attend, meeting materials will be available online and in hard copy at the Taos Field Office at 226 Cruz Alta Road, Taos, NM. Comments must be in writing and submitted via email or at the Taos Field Office by April 29, 2019.
