LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – The temporary restrictions of the Rock House Recreation Area, visitor center and boat launch have been extended through August 6 to allow the parking lot sealer to cure properly in the extreme heat. The recreation area, managed by The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Lake Havasu Field Office has had restricted access since July 23 to ensure safety during the repaving project. The parking lot repair will enhance the recreational experiences at the site and improve facilities. During the construction, parking, boat launching or use of the facilities will not be available. The recreation area will reopen for public use on August 7.

There are other nearby boat launches on the Lower Colorado River available to the public for a fee at Buckskin Mountain State Park and River Island State Park, in addition to other resorts along the river.

The Rock House Recreation Area is located approximately 13 miles east of Parker, Arizona on Parker Dam Road along the Lower Colorado River in the Parker Strip Recreation Area.
