BLM encourages public safety during Championship Air Race Trials

CARSON CITY, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management, Carson City District, strongly suggests the public to be vigilant of numerous safety concerns when recreating on public lands adjacent to and north of Stead Airport in Washoe County, Nevada, due to activities related to the National Championship Air Races.  This very important safety message is in the interest for both the participants and the public for the qualifying event on June 7 through June 10,   2018. 


The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. Our mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
