BLM Christmas tree permits available

SANTA FE, N.M. – Beginning Nov. 25, the Bureau of Land Management offices in Albuquerque, Socorro, Taos, Farmington and Santa Fe began personal Christmas tree permits sales for harvest on BLM lands. The permits will be sold through Dec. 24 and cost $5. Maps may be obtained when purchasing the permits at your local BLM Office. When transporting a tree taken from BLM public land, the permit must be attached to the tree. Only piñon and juniper trees are available for harvest as Christmas trees on BLM lands. Below are the locations where the permits are available:

For the Rio Puerco and Taos Field Offices only, Christmas tree harvesters are able to purchase a permit online. Please use this link to access the online portal for sales: https://forestproducts.blm.gov. If you purchase an online permit, keep in mind you will need to print the haul tag and attach it just as you would a regular permit.
