BLM Arizona Resource Advisory Council to Meet in Phoenix May 7-8, 2014

The Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Arizona Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet in Phoenix on May 7-8, 2014. Established in 1995, the statewide citizen-based council provides advice to the BLM on land management programs and issues affecting public lands in Arizona. In addition, the RAC has been authorized to review and provide advice on all recreation fee proposals for the BLM and the U.S. Forest Service recreation sites in Arizona, as required by the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act of 2004.The Recreation RAC will not review or make recommendations on recreation fee proposals at this meeting. Members of the public are welcome to attend the RAC Working Group meeting on May 7 and the Business meeting on May 8. The meetings will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., respectively at the BLM National Training Center located at 9828 North 31st Avenue in Phoenix. A half-hour public comment period is scheduled on the day of the Business meeting from 11:30 a.m. to Noon for any interested members of the public who wish to address the Council on BLM programs and business in general. Depending on the number of persons wishing to speak and time available, the time for individual comments may be limited. Written comments may be sent to the Bureau of Land Management at One N. Central Ave., Suite 800, Phoenix, AZ 85004, attention Arizona RAC Coordinator.
