VALMY, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management has approved a new natural gas pipeline in Humboldt County. An environmental analysis found no significant impact to burying the new line between the existing Ruby Pipeline and the Valmy Power Plant north of Valmy.
BLM’s decision authorizes Pinyon Pipeline Company, LLC, to construct, operate, and maintain the 16-mile, 24-inch buried pipeline and associated above ground facilities through a mix of public and private lands in a “checkerboard” ownership area. The project will support conversion of the North Valmy Generating Station from a coal-fired to a natural gas-fired power plant.
Additional information and planning documents are available at the BLM National NEPA Register. For more information, please call Project Manager Kevin Brun at 775-861-6500.
