CARSON CITY, Nev. - The Sierra Front Field Office announces a temporary closure order for a Special Recreation Permit issued to the Reno Air Racing Association. On September 11 through September 19, 2021, 450 acres of public lands north of the Reno-Stead Airport will be closed for the qualifying and competition events. Please see map.
Throughout both events, the area of public land will be patrolled by the BLM and partner agencies in coordination with BLM. Any person who violates the closure may face penalties. The patrols are intended to ensure that a safety perimeter within the course area is maintained during the closure periods.
Closure restrictions do not apply to event officials, medical and rescue personnel, law enforcement, and agency personnel monitoring the events.
