BLM announces new Kremmling Field Manager

KREMMLING, Colo. – Today the Bureau of Land Management announced that William “Bill” Mills has been selected as the new Field Manager for the BLM Kremmling Field Office in northern Colorado.
Mills will supervise the 24-person Kremmling Field Office, which manages 377,351 surface acres and 2.2 million subsurface acres primarily in Grand and Jackson counties, with some acreage in Eagle, Larimer and Summit counties.
“Bill brings a wealth of experience to this position,” said Northwest District Manager Andrew Archuleta. “He is very familiar with the area and its resources, having detailed as the Field Manager last year.”
Mills served in the United State Air Force from 1989-2009 in numerous positions around the globe. He retired from the Air Force in 2009 as the Career Field Functional Manager at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.
He began his BLM career in 2010 as a Freedom of Information Act Officer with the National Operations Center in Denver. In 2014, he moved to the BLM Colorado State Office, where he was a section chief until transitioning to Canon City as the District Administrative Officer in May 2016. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Phoenix.
“My wife and I are very pleased to call Kremmling our new home,” Mills said. “I look forward to continuing to develop solid relationships with the many partners BLM works with in this area, and I look forward to working with the great BLM staff in the Kremmling Field Office.”
Mills and his wife, Chandra, have six children and one grandson. Their two youngest sons are attending West Grand Elementary School this year. Mills and his family enjoy a variety of activities, including family game nights, fishing, camping, and hiking.
Mills will report for duty in Kremmling on Sept. 17.
