BLM and Colorado Mesa University to host recreation public outreach meetings in July

NEWCASTLE, Wyo. – The Bureau of Land Management Newcastle Field Office with the help of Colorado Mesa University invites the public to participate in a series of meetings to discuss outdoor recreation within the Newcastle Field Office. The meetings are designed to engage the public, including local leaders, business owners, residents, and visitors that either participate in outdoor activities or have a stake in the quality of the experience for those who recreate on BLM managed lands. Information gathered at these meetings may be used by the field office in a future Resource Management Plan Revision.

The meetings are designed to provide the BLM with the public’s perceptions, opinions, preferences, and attitudes about the management of public outdoor recreation areas. The meetings will be facilitated by Dr. Tim Casey, Professor of Political Science and Director of the Natural Resource Center at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. 

The meetings are scheduled to last approximately 90 minutes and are being held at the following dates, times, and locations.

  • 7/9/21, 10 am – 11:30 am, Sundance Senior Citizen Center, 220 N. 2nd Street, Sundance, WY 82729

Please note that due to the ongoing concerns around the Coronavirus, we are encouraging all attendees to follow recommended community and CDC guidance. Facemasks and hand sanitizer will be available for those who would like to use them.
