The BLM in Utah is currently accepting applications for seasonal firefighting positions throughout the state. Temporary seasonal positions available include engine, helitack, prevention, and fuels crew members, as well as aircraft ramp personnel and dispatchers stationed at locations across Utah. To receive priority consideration, applications must be received by the "early consideration" date indicated in the specific announcement and for the specific location. Employment generally begins in May 2016. Some locations offer government housing during the employment period.Any U.S. Citizen at least 18 years of age prior to appointment, regardless of gender, race or other background, is welcome to apply. Those selected for primary firefighting positions require completion of a physical examination and pre-employment drug screening prior to appointment and must pass the "pack test" after entering on duty as a condition of hire.
