Mission
This information bulletin announces the availability of and describes the recent updates to the Timber Production Capability Classification Data Standard Version 4.
The Timber Production Capability Classification (TPCC) dataset represents areas of Bureau of Land Management managed lands in Western Oregon that are classified according to the physical and biological capability of the site to support and produce forest products. The purpose of TPCC is to determine whether forest lands are capable of producing timber on a sustained-yield basis and are suitable for planned timber management. TPCC is based upon the sites capability to produce wood fiber, not on the vegetation currently occupying the site. This data was generated from a variety of data sources over a relatively long period of time.
The following changes were applied:
- Reformatted document to meet Section 508 standards and match the latest data standard template.
- Updated FOIA category.
- Updated architecture diagrams.
- Added edit tracking fields and default values for required fields.
- Updated publication section.
- Added default values for required fields.
- Added attribute rules to editing procedures.
- Removed editing procedures text that no longer applies.
