Subject: Areas of Critical Environmental Concern Data Standard Version 5.0
This information bulletin announces the availability of and describes recent updates to the Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) Spatial Data Standard Version 5.0.
Changes to the data standard alter the way that the ACEC values codes are entered. The single value field with concatenated list of codes has been split into seven field where only one code is entered in each. ACEC value codes were added, removed, and split to align the domain with national reporting.
The ACEC_VALUE was removed from ACEC_P_POLY and ACEC_POLY, and ACEC_HIST_VALUE from ACEC_HIST_POLY.
Seven new fields, ACEC_VALUE1, ACEC_VALUE2, ACEC_VALUE3, ACEC_VALUE4, ACEC_VALUE5, ACEC_VALUE6, ACEC_VALUE7, are added to each of the three polygon data sets ACEC_P_POLY, ACEC_POLY, and ACEC_HIST_POLY.
Codes and values removed from domain dom_ACEC_VALUE are BOT – Botanical, CELL – Oregon Natural Heritage Program, FW – Fish and Wildlife, GEOL – Geological.
Codes and values added to domain dom_ACEC_VALUE are NSYS – Natural System, FRSC – Fish Resource, WRSC – Wildlife Resource.
The domain dom_ACEC_VALUE is applied to the seven new value fields in ACEC_P_POLY and ACEC_POLY, but not the historic theme ACEC_HIST_POLY to allow it to retain discontinued domain values, such as those described here as removed.
Descriptions and procedures in the data standard are updated to reflect the change to fields, coded domain and how to enter ACEC values.
