Subject: Forest Site Moisture Conditions Data Standard
This information bulletin (IB) establishes the Oregon/Washington spatial data standard for Forest Site Moisture Conditions (FSMC). (See the attached data standard document.) The data standard defines how this type of data is to be captured in a Geographic Information System (GIS), along with the attributes and coding schemes (domains) to be used. The Forest Site Moisture Conditions (FSMC_POLY) themes have been added to the corporate spatial data system. This data is available for display and analytical purposes by all users, including processes supporting implementation of Resource Management Plans.
This data standard is effective immediately and is to be followed for all FSMC geospatial data, as specified in the data standard document.
The draft data standard was issued for internal review and comment under prior instruction. To see comments and responses, contact Eric Hiebenthal, State Data Administrator, at 503-808-6565, or ehiebent@blm.gov.
Questions about this data standard can be directed to Abe Wheeler, State Data Steward for FSMC, at 503-808-6451; Maria Fiorella, GIS Remote Sensing Analyst, at 503-808-6271; or Eric Hiebenthal, State Data Administrator, at 503-808-6565.
Districts with unions are reminded to notify their unions of this information bulletin and satisfy any bargaining obligations before implementation. Your servicing Human Resources Office or Labor Relations Specialist can provide you with assistance in this matter.
