Subject: Availability of Updated Fillable Department of Interior Forms DI-381 and DI-382
Program Area: Lands and Realty.
Purpose: This Instruction Memorandum (IM) announces and disseminates updated Department of the Interior Forms, DI-381, Claim for Relocation Payments – Residential and DI-382, Claim for Relocation Payments – Nonresidential. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has updated these forms and these forms supersede all previous versions of these forms.
Policy/Action: The BLM has updated Department of Interior Forms DI-381 and DI-382. The Department of the Interior has approved these documents as consistent with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisitions Policies Act of 1970, Public Law 91-646, as amended. The new Residential and Non-Residential Claim for Relocation Payments forms are available at: https://www.doi.gov in fillable Adobe Acrobat PDF. All offices should destroy any remaining inventory of the old forms.
Timeframe: Effective immediately.
Budget Impact: None.
Background: The BLM uses the Claim for Relocation Payment forms to document and assess claims for relocation expenses by displaced persons (residential) and businesses (nonresidential) that result from acquisitions of land by agencies of the Department of the Interior. The BLM’s Acquisition Handbook, H-2100-1, dated January 31, 2002, includes sample versions of the old Claim for Relocation Payment forms and established policy direction regarding their use by the BLM. The new Claim for Relocation Payment forms DI-381 and DI-382 supersede and replace the old forms for all BLM offices.
