Purpose:

To issue BLM Idaho’s annual Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Policy Statement and clearly communicate the responsibility each employee has in fostering a work environment that is free from unlawful discrimination.

Policy/Action:

The attached List of Responsibilities and EEO Policy Statement reinforce BLM Idaho’s commitment to fostering and maintaining a work environment free from unlawful discrimination for all of its employees.

 

List of Responsibilities:

  • All BLM Idaho Employees (supervisory and non-supervisory) are responsible for reading and adhering to the principles and responsibilities listed in this Instruction Memorandum and the enclosed EEO Policy Statement.
  • All BLM Idaho Managers and Supervisors, hereafter referred to as management officials, are responsible for ensuring the BLM Idaho EEO Notice and the attached EEO Policy Statement are posted in all buildings that house permanent BLM Idaho offices. The BLM Idaho EEO Notice and attached EEO Policy Statement are to be displayed where employee notices are typically posted.
  • The BLM Idaho EEO Manager is responsible for providing guidance on this policy; managing BLM Idaho’s EEO informal complaint program; issuing the BLM Idaho EEO Notice, which lists the contact information and timeframes for entering the EEO complaint process; and ensuring the BLM’s and the Department of the Interior’s policies on the prevention and elimination of harassment, EEO training, reasonable accommodation, and personal assistance services are posted to the BLM Idaho Office of Civil Rights intranet site.

This policy is effective immediately and expires September 30, 2021.

Background:

This Instruction Memorandum replaces and supersedes Instruction Memorandum No. ID-2019-017.

In accordance with 29 CFR § 1614, the United States EEO Commission requires Federal agencies to issue an annual EEO Policy Statement.
