Information Bulletin:

The purpose of this Information Bulletin (IB) is to inform Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employees and the public of the availability of the Critical Minerals Performance Metrics Final Report (attachment 1). The Report describes the draft metrics, the public participation process, and the final performance metrics developed to help BLM achieve critical minerals program goals.

As part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the Department of the Interior’s coordination on the Interagency Working Group on Mining Laws, Regulations, and Permitting (IWG), the BLM worked to develop internal metrics to better track stages in the critical minerals permitting process, including steps identified in the IWG report as crucial to increasing the timeliness and efficiency of permitting engagement: early interagency coordination, identification of information needs, and better coordination with proponents.

If you have any questions concerning this IB, please contact Matt Marsh, Acting Division Chief for Solid Minerals (HQ-320) at mmarsh@blm.gov.
