Subject: Solicitation of Nominations for Natural Resource Conservation Awards DD: 12/03/2018; 01/11/2019
Each year, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Director and the U.S. Forest Service (FS) Chief recognize outstanding individuals, groups, and partnership achievements by natural resource professionals and partner organizations. Through these awards, the BLM Director recognizes the hard work and professional dedication of BLM employees and partner individuals and organizations. All BLM state directors, field managers, and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for one or more awards for individuals or groups who exemplify the performance or contributions described in Attachments 1 and 2. These awards support the Secretary’s goal of creating a conservation stewardship legacy second only to Theodore Roosevelt, and in particular the goals of Secretarial Order 3347, which directs BLM and other Interior Bureaus to “enhance conservation stewardship, increase outdoor recreation, and improve the management of game species and their habitat.”
