Subject:           Availability of the Sage-Grouse Habitat Assessment Framework as a BLM Technical Reference 6710-1

The BLM Technical Reference 6710-1 titled Sage-Grouse Habitat Assessment Framework: A Multi-Scale Assessment Tool (HAF) DATE is now available on line at: http://www.blm.gov. The HAF is a collaborative effort between the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies and the BLM. The HAF was edited San Stiver, Tom Rinkes, Dave Naugle, Paul Makela, Danelle Nance, and Jason Karl. This 2015 version replaces the previous version published in 2010. The HAF has been identified in the recently released proposed land use plans as an assessment and monitoring tool for sage-grouse habitats. Please refer to the land use plans, specifically the Monitoring Framework appendix, for more specific information.

For further information, please contact Steve Small, Division Chief, Fish and Wildlife Conservation, at ssmall@blm.gov or by calling 202-912-7366.
