The manual section and handbook contain national policies, processes, and procedures for Abandoned Mine Land program (AML).Bureau of Land Management (BLM) personnel must review and implement the policies, procedures, and guidance contained within these documents. Field officials will ensure that all BLM employees with surface management responsibilities receive this IB and the associated manual and handbook and become familiar with the contents of both documents.The first manual section for the AML program was released in 2007. This revised manual reflects policy released after that time. The policies, procedures, and guidance outlined in this manual section may differ from existing practices and therefore require careful review.The manual is available online.
