Field Rotations for Presidential Management Fellows

The Division of Decision Support, Planning and NEPA, the Las Vegas Field Office (FO), along with Megan Stouffer and David Wood, thank the State and Field Offices who responded to Information Bulletin 2008-043, Rotations for Presidential Management Fellows (PMF). The response from the field was overwhelming with more than 10 offices generously offering their sites as potential rotations for Megan and David. We were thrilled at the variety and quality of opportunities for professional development provided by the State and Field Offices. We faced a difficult decision regarding summer rotations.

Summer rotation decisions are made and we are pleased to announce that Megan Stouffer will be working in the New Mexico State Office this summer. She will be helping to provide guidance to FOs for preparation of two ongoing Resource Management Plans (RMP) and project level National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis. She will also be coordinating the completion of plan implementation strategies for three recently completed RMPs. Megan will also have the opportunity to work in a District Office for a period of time assisting with the development of NEPA related documents and program operations.
We are also pleased to announce that David Wood will be working in the Grand Junction FO beginning in late summer. He will be assisting in the development of the RMP revision for the Grand Junction FO. In addition, he will be developing a management and implementation plan for the McInnis Canyon National Conservation Area focusing on ecological restoration and recreation management. Both projects provide an opportunity to work on the management of public lands near the urban interface and cover a broad range of issues facing the Bureau of Land Management today.

Other current PMFs will be looking for rotational opportunities in the near future. We will keep you informed of future opportunities. Offices are also encouraged to hire new PMFs for vacant positions.
