Subject: Updated Administrative Grievance Procedures 370 DM 771
The Department of the Interior has updated the Administrative Grievance Procedures, 370 DM 771. The updated manual promotes the use of alternative dispute resolution and reflects a more collaborative process to resolve workplace disputes. The manual also eliminates the right to appeal grievance decisions to the Office of Hearing and Appeals (OHA).
Attached is the updated manual along with transition guidance for implementation. The effective date of the Administrative Grievance Manual was September 5, 2007. Any previous editions of this manual are cancelled and all grievance matters that arise after the effective date are covered by this manual. Any requests for an appeal to the OHA will not be honored after this date.
If you have any questions regarding these procedures, please contact Tracy Ware at (202) 208-6262.
