The recipients of these awards will be honored at the Excellence in Interpretation Awards Ceremony, held during the National Association for Interpretation (NAI) National Interpreters Workshop, November 6-10, 2007, in Wichita, Kansas. Award recipients in the categories will be invited to attend the National Interpreters Workshop to accept their awards in person. The BLM Division of Recreation & Visitor Services (WO-250) and/or the BLM Division of Education & Volunteers (WO-650) will pay both travel expenses and the National Interpreters Workshop registration fee for those honorees. The purpose of the awards program is to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of BLM employees who have made a significant difference in the field of interpretation or environmental education during the past year. The awards were created to stimulate and reward creative thinking and activity within BLM. The National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and NAI will also recognize their top interpreters and environmental educators at the ceremony. Agency directors or other officials will be asked to present the awards to the honorees.
