Subject Update of the Diversity Notification (DIN) Tool in the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Automated Application System – BLMJOBS
Online
The DIN tool, automated system for employment outreach notices, has the potential to increase the diversity of the BLM’s applicant pool and, as a result increase workforce diversity throughout the organization. The Division of Special Initiatives (WO 730) has updated the contact information in the DIN tool to include a list of Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), i.e; Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI), and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU). The DIN tool is email dependent and only those MSIs with email addresses for their contacts are included in the list.
Through the DIN tool, the HRO may forward an electronic employment outreach notice to an entire group or individual organizations from the DIN contact list. As the HRO creates a vacancy announcement, he or she simply selects the DIN tool and identifies an organization or organizations that should receive an outreach notice, and the automated system forwards the outreach notice as an e-mail message.
Please direct any questions about the MSI contact information to Michelle Thomas, WO-730, at Michelle_S_Thomas@blm.gov.
