BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

BLM Central Coast Field Office issues seasonal fire restrictions

MARINA, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management, in coordination with the U.S. Wildland Fire Service, is issuing seasonal fire restrictions for public lands managed by the Central Coast Field Office effective Friday, May 15, due to dry conditions and high wildland fire danger. These seasonal restrictions are in addition to the year-round statewide fire prevention order and the permanent fire restrictions in place at Fort Ord National Monument and Cotoni-Coast Dairies. This seasonal fire order will remain in effect until further notice.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Eastern Interior Field Office will begin a temporary road closure for summer construction on the western part of Nome Creek Road in the White Mountains National Recreation Area on June 1, 2026.

The Bureau of Land Management, Stillwater Field Office, has approved a short-term right-of-way (ROW) to the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to begin geotechnical investigation activities on public lands between Middlegate and Gabbs, in Churchill and Mineral Counties, Nevada.
