MARINA, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management, in coordination with the U.S. Wildland Fire Service, is issuing seasonal fire restrictions for public lands managed by the Central Coast Field Office effective Friday, May 15, due to dry conditions and high wildland fire danger. These seasonal restrictions are in addition to the year-round statewide fire prevention order and the permanent fire restrictions in place at Fort Ord National Monument and Cotoni-Coast Dairies. This seasonal fire order will remain in effect until further notice.

The BLM has authorized formal trailhead and parking improvements for the Furniture Draw and Little Holes trails in the San Rafael Swell to enhance visitor safety and protect natural resources along Buckhorn Draw Road.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Eastern Interior Field Office will begin a temporary road closure for summer construction on the western part of Nome Creek Road in the White Mountains National Recreation Area on June 1, 2026.

The Bureau of Land Management, Stillwater Field Office, has approved a short-term right-of-way (ROW) to the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to begin geotechnical investigation activities on public lands between Middlegate and Gabbs, in Churchill and Mineral Counties, Nevada.

In accordance with the Mineral Leasing Act of 1920, as amended, the Bureau of Land Management received a petition for reinstatement of terminated competitive oil and gas lease TXNM139423 from Sea Eagle Ford LLC.
