California Coastal National Monument Junior Explorer Activity Book
California is home to an amazing population of seabirds. They like to gather in large groups on the offshore rocks and islands of the California Coastal National Monument. When people get too close, it interrupts their feeding, resting and caring for their chicks. Disturbing their daily activities leaves them wide open to predators. This activity book also includes information on the Trinidad Head Lighthouse, stormwater, the importance of local spruce forests, and profiles of careers in environmental science. The Trinidad Museum is a site for studying native plants and animals. It also has information on the Yurok culture, which flourished along the Klamath River.
