For the past several years, the Bureau of Land Management has developed Wildland Firefighting Crews specifically designed to employ military Veterans.

It just makes sense to match our veterans’ skills with wildland firefighting. Many of the skills veterans learned in the military translate to wildland firefighting, such as teamwork; decisive leadership; risk mitigation and management; logistics and emergency medicine. And those skills can translate into career opportunities in fire and other land management fields.
