Event Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Roswell Field Office is celebrating the 31st Annual National Public Lands Day by inviting volunteers to help plant native grasses and shrub seeds and install riprap rock check dams on Fort Stanton-Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area in Lincoln County. The native grass and shrub seeds will help revegetate and stabilize soils. The riprap check dams will stabilize gullies, decrease sedimentation and provide channel protection.

BLM personnel will meet volunteers at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 at the Rob Jaggers Campground and provide lunch around noon. Volunteers will receive T-shirts on a first-come, first-served basis.
