Oct. 16: BLM, Forest Service to hold public meeting on requested withdrawal for Oak Creek Canyon in the Coconino National Forest

The Bureau of Land Management is announcing a public comment period and a public meeting on a proposal from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service to protect more than 10,000 acres of land in the Coconino National Forest by withdrawing them for 20 years from new mining claims, subject to valid existing rights.
Information on how to access the online public meeting will be published 30 days prior to the meeting in the Arizona Daily Sun and also on the Coconino National Forest website.
