LANDER, Wyo. – Construction on the Shoshone Lake Road west of Lander, funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, is mostly complete. While the contractor may continue to work in the area, users will no longer experience traffic delays.

“Recreationists will notice improved access to the parking area at the top of the face, while the road remains a high-clearance 4X4 route beyond that,” said Jared Oakleaf, outdoor recreation planner for the Lander Field Office. “Thanks to everyone for their patience while this important work was underway.”

The project employed a local contractor to surface and reestablish drainage on this well-used section of the BLM road and right-of-way through lands managed by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, signed into law in November 2021, contains provisions that allow us to address deferred maintenance backlogs which benefit the communities we directly serve.
