Humboldt River Field Office has initiated a public scoping period on the Blue Wing Complex Herd Management Area Plan
WINNEMUCCA, Nev. – The Humboldt River Field Office is developing a Herd Management Area Plan (HMAP) for the Blue Wing Complex. A 30-day public scoping period will begin on May 2, 2024, and will end at 11:59 PM PST on June 1, 2024.
An Evaluation Report (Report) has been prepared and is available for public review on the BLM ePlanning site at: https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/2032468/510. The Report documents key issues that would aide in alternative development of the Blue Wing Complex (HMAP). Depending on funding and other competing priorities, the BLM intends on completing the process and adopting an HMAP for the Blue Wing Complex within approximately one year.
“The Blue Wing Complex HMAP will identify and set objectives for wild horses and burros and their habitat in future years” said Humboldt River Field Office Manager, John Mitchell.
