Earth Day poster contest asks students to focus on “Healthy World, Healthy Home”
KANAB, Utah — The Bureau of Land Management's Paria River District is hosting its 24th Annual Earth Day poster contest. The contest is open to all K-12 students in Kanab and Valley, Utah, and Fredonia, Arizona.
"This year, we invite students to submit designs that reflect the 2024 theme of "Healthy World, Healthy Home," said BLM Wildlife Biologist Lisa Church. "Students should create a poster that best reflects their insight into this year's theme. We see amazing posters that showcase local talent each year, and we expect this year will be no different."
Student participants should return contest submissions to their respective teachers or school offices by April 12, 2024. Local volunteers will conduct the judging on April 19, and awards will be presented at end-of-the-year school award assemblies in May.
First, second, and third place winners will be chosen across six age groups, with prizes in each category: K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-7, 7-8, and 9-12, and one overall grand prize winner will also be selected. Local community businesses generously donate prizes. For more information, please get in touch with Lisa Church at (435) 644-1273 or lchurch@blm.gov.
