BLM to temporarily close Rob Jaggers Campground
ROSWELL, N.M. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rob Jaggers Campground will be closed to the public during the American Endurance Ride Conference’s Equestrian Trail Ride from July 6-15, 2024. The campground will be unavailable for public use or access for the duration of the event.
“As a provision of the event’s special recreation permit, the BLM will temporarily close the Rob Jaggers Campground,” said BLM Outdoor Recreation Planner Jesse Vinson. “The closure will be in effect for the safety of the public and to reduce the chance of user conflicts during the event. This closure will not affect any other BLM public lands.”
Nearby camping is available at Cave Canyon Campground located on the Fort Stanton-Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area, and dispersed camping outside of the Rob Jaggers Campground will remain available for use. The Valley of Fires Campground, located 25 miles to the west of Fort Stanton on U.S. Highway 380, is also be available for camping and day use during this time.
