BLM Southeast Oregon Resource Advisory Council Announces August Meeting
LAKEVIEW, Ore. — The Bureau of Land Management’s Southeast Oregon Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet virtually on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 9 a.m. to noon Pacific Daylight Time (PT). The public is welcome to attend the virtual meeting.
"The Southeast Oregon RAC members are an important part of the land management process," Lakeview District Manager Todd Forbes said. "Members provide diverse perspectives on local interests that help advise BLM activities throughout the State.”
Advisory councils consist of up to 15 members representing diverse interests in the local community. The Southeast Oregon RAC provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary of the Interior on public land resource and management issues in the Vale, Burns and Lakeview BLM Districts and the Fremont-Winema and Malheur National Forests.
This is a special meeting for the RAC to provide comments on the Lakeview Draft Resource Management Plan Amendment.
Half-hour comment periods, during which the public may address the RAC, will be offered at 9 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2024. Depending on the number of people wishing to comment and the time available, the amount of time for individual oral comments may be limited.
